When I walked into Anderson Hall on June 15, I had no way of knowing what I would be experiencing for the next nine days. I had no way of knowing that for the duration of my stay at American University that I would be surrounded by a group of nineteen other like-minded young people and be trained by some of the best and brightest in the political world. The intensive training I received through the Yes We Can training program opened my mind to a world that I had only begun to understand. This program gave me an insight on how I could reach the goals and aspirations that I have had for as long as I can remember.

Given all that I had experienced at the training, I had a wealth of opportunities open to me and only one question to answer, "Which offer to take?" However, after all was said and done I chose to work this cycle at the direct mail firm MSHC Partners Inc. From my first day there, I began to see the training I received from Yes We Can helped me everyday. Without this training, I would not be able to understand political terms like targeting, voter file, or universe. Additionally, the training gave me the basic and advanced skills needed to assist me through this cycle and the ones to come.

I would recommend this training for anyone who has a desire to begin a career in politics and would gladly recommend the opportunity to gain the knowledge and experience that I have to anyone. I am confident that anyone who attends the training after me will have the same amazing process that I had. It was truly invaluable and I am forever grateful that I had the chance to attend the Yes We Can campaign training.
